Standards compliance

Valid XHTML 1.0!  Valid CSS!  Bobby WorldWide Approved A

This site conforms to the W3C's WAI Accessibility Guidelines, Level Single-A. However, it also implements the majority of recommendations at Double-A and Triple-A levels.

The code is valid XHTML 1.0 and valid CSS2. All Javascript elements are non-essential and the site is fully functional without scripting. All links will open in your current browser window.

If you have any problems accessing this site, or any other technical difficulties, please contact us by e-mailing

Please note that due to the current limitations of Microsoft's ASP.Net technology, the search page on the site is not currently standards-compliant. As soon as ASP.Net supports XHTML fully, we will ensure that the search page meets the same standard as the rest of the site.

For additional ease of use, the website is available in two different designs. As the default design has a fixed font size and a variety of coloured backgrounds, the alternative design places black text onto a plain white background and allows for font re-sizing by the web browser.

When Javascript is enabled, this customisation option is available on every page, via the "Customise" link, with the access key "u". On other browsers, such as Netscape 6+, the alternative designs are available on the "View" menu, under "Use stylesheets".
