As William Anne Holles' elder brother died in 1728, he was styled Viscount Malden from his birth in Turin and in 1724, he became the 4th Earl. His second wife, Harriet, was an amateur artist and produced the drawing View of Cassiobury which was later engraved and is now in the Hertfordshire County Records Office.
