March workshops
Try something new at Watford Museum this Spring with local artist and art teacher Mario Lautier Vella - have a go at drawing, painting, pastels and life drawing in fun, structured 3 hour sessions (tea break included). Please note our March workshops are not drop-in sessions and places must be booked in advance - all attendees are required to be present for the start of each session.
Saturday 7 March - Have a go: drawing
11am to 2pm
This 3 hour session for beginners will introduce you to different ways of drawing using pencil and charcoal. Basic materials provided. £15, ages 18 and over.
Saturday 14 March - Have a go: pastels
11am to 2pm
Discover how to work with soft pastels and explore colour theory, mark making and lots more. Basic materials provided. Previous drawing experience useful. £15, ages 18 and over.
Saturday 21 March - Have a go: painting
11am to 2pm
Enjoy an introductory session to painting using acrylics. Discover how to work with paint, brushes and colour and create a quick painting inspired by an object in the museum. Previous drawing experience useful. £15, ages 18 and over.
Thursday 26 March - Have a go: life drawing
7 to 10pm
Explore different ways of starting life drawing and how you can draw the human body working with shape, proportion and more. We will be working with a nude model throughout the evening. Basic materials required. Previous drawing experience useful. £15, ages 18 and over.
