Beacon lighting for Margaret Maughan

This evening we lit the beacon at Watford Museum in remembrance of Margaret Maughan, an unsung Watford hero and trailblazer.

Margaret sadly passed away last week and was Britain's first ever Paralympic gold medalist. She lived in Watford for over 60 years and for many years worked as a teacher. In 2012, she lit the flame at the London Paralympics opening ceremony.
