The Earls of Essex, their wives and children at Cassiobury House

Watford Museum is indebted to Dr. Laurie B Harwood for her extraordinary dedication and enthusiasm in researching and writing about the museum’s collection of portraits of the Essex family.

While we transition to the new museum at Town Hall, the Cassiobury portraits will be unavailable to view in person until we relaunch in Autumn 2025.
