"Watford Museum on Tour" is a series of events which kicked off in October 2023. They are helping to bring the town's history alive until 2025 (when the museum moves to the Town Hall) and are accessible to everyone in the community. Keep a close eye on our social media channels for updates and announcements. 


With "Watford Museum on Tour," we're breathing new life into the past, creating an immersive experience that connects Watfordians with their vibrant historical roots. These experiences are brough to you, for free, by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery Players.

A journey through time, you won't forget


Watford Central Library, Creator Space 


Thursday 22 February, 1:30pm - 3:30pm 

Friday 23 February, 10am - 12pm 

What to expect: 

  • Making a fan and learning how people used them to create secret signals to each other

  • Creating a postcard to send to a special someone

  • Using the museum’s stamp template to create your own Watford stamp

  • Experience a showcase of objects from our collection 

  • See the Hertfordshires' Museums Object of the Year 2024 - Longland's Love Token up close and personal! 

Learning Alphabets

• Who can attend: Kids of all ages are welcome, but please remember that children must be supervised at all times to ensure their safety.

• Booking: No advance booking or resources required, though expect potential short wait times during peak hours. Our museum staff will assist you during this self-guided event.
