"Museum on Tour" is a series of events which kicked off in October 2023. They are breathing new life into the past, creating an immersive experience that connects everyone with Watford's vibrant historical roots.
These experiences are brought to you, for free, by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery Players.
Future dates for events and activities will be shared on this page and our social media channels.
Watford Community Family Fun Day
15 August 2026, King George V Playing Fields
Step back into Watford's printing past with a range of hands-on activities inspired by the Museum of Watford's collections. Families can get creative with screen printing by designing their own tea towels or tote bags, or make personalised postcards using stamp, inks and geometric printing techniques.
Visitors will also have the chance to explore historic objects linked to Watford's renowned printing history, including the Odhams trophy, original printing blocks and an engraved printing roll. It's a unique opportunity to discover the stories behind one of the town's most important industries and get up close to objects that helped shape Watford's history.

Herts Pride
22 August 2026, Cassiobury Park
Join the Museum of Watford at Herts Pride for a celebration of inclusion, community and belonging. Through creative activities and displays, visitors can explore local stories and share their own perspectives.
Taking part in 'A Place Without Prejudice', a collaborative collage activity inspired by Proud Watford's tagline, where participants can express what an inclusive community means to them.
Visitors can also contribute to 'The Museum of Me', creating a model of a significant object, moment or place from their own life, or from Watford's history, and writing a musuem-style label to tell its story.
Alongside the activities, explore a display celebrating LGBTQ+ stories in Watford, highlighting the people, experiences and local history that have helped shape the town and its communities.
